Sexual Intimacy and Family Life

I'm going to be honest, I'm not terribly excited to write about this week's subject, but it is an important subject that should be talked about. Sexual Relations is kind of a taboo topic, but sexual relations are vital in order to start a family. Without it, you can't have kids, and without kids, you can't have a full family and then there will be nobody to continue on and pass on your family name.
To start out, I would like to discuss the Law of Chastity. Now, what is that? Chastity is Sexual Purity. So the Law of Chastity states that we should refrain from any sort of sexual activity with another person until you are married. Then when you are married, to practice perfect fidelity and only perform those acts with your partner. Satan has led many people to believe that sexual actions are acceptable outside of marriage. He influences people's thoughts, words, and actions to be impure and ultimately break the Law of Chastity. Many people may see this as a restriction, but it is there in order to protect us. It will keep us safe from the spiritual damage resulting from sexual activity outside of marriage. If we listen to and obey the Law of Chastity, we will be more in tune with the Holy Ghost, and we will receive guidance and strength to fulfill all of the requirements to hold a Temple Recommend.
On a related note, One of the most important things in an intimate relationship is fidelity. Fidelity is defined as being faithful to a person, and showing continuous loyalty and support. Like I mentioned when talking about the Law of Chastity as well, Sexual Actions should only happen between your marital partner. Sometimes it can be beneficial to have a sit-down with your spouse and talk about marital boundaries and such. For example, one couple may agree never to be solely in a room with the other gender without their spouse with them. It can be a good idea to place safety barriers like that in place.
Overall, Sexual intimacy within marriage is a sacred thing ordained by God to create families of your own. It's just important to know how to properly make sure you're following all the guidelines to protect you and your partner.
